Over the past week, we’ve been taking a detailed look at some of the greatest grow lights available in 2020. Next up, is our G8LED 600 Watt MEGA LED Grow Light review .

I really like the G8 Series, mainly because they’re the easiest grow lights to set-up and use. You don’t need to configure tricky focusing lenses, or move your plants to different light sources.

G8’s stand out because you get the same coverage regardless of what stage your plants are at. This saves a lot of time and effort when you’re growing.

The G8LED600 is a smart option for medium to large grow projects with an output strong enough to replace a traditional 600-800W HID.

Coverage

This is where the G8LED 600 really excels. It’s 8 band spectrum light covers up to 20 square foot in both veg and bloom stages. Those LED’s are powerful too, penetrating up to 4 feet into the canopy. It’s another example of the G8 team thinking outside the box.

Most LED’s will have a focusing lens, which can reduce the power of the lights. G8 instead opt for a super-intense light to make accessing the lower reaches of your crops easy.

Strength and Efficiency

The G8LED 600 consumes 380W with an output equivalent to 600W. It’s a decent return, but I can’t help but feel that having a veg switch would reduce the overall consumption on a whole project. It’s a missed opportunity.

Having said that, boy are these lights powerful. Your plants will be lit up like Christmas trees, dressed head to foot in rich photosynthetic light throughout their grow cycle.

Versatility

The G8600 is an extremely versatile tool, suitable for both medium and large-scale projects; as long as you’ve got enough head-room. The company recommend at least 24 inches above the canopy to avoid burning your plants. That can be issue, so make sure you have enough room in your grow space before purchasing a G8600.

I’m giving out extra points for the identical coverage in veg and bloom.

Value

In terms of price, the G8600 is fantastic value for money. Massive coverage with the ability to replace either a 600W or 800W HID. Furthermore, because the veg and bloom stages are the same, you don’t have to invest in extra lighting equipment.

Additional Info

International sockets are available on request and G8 has a top US-based customer service team to help assist new growers, and experts alike.

What I like

For me, it’s all about the coverage and the smart design. The G8 team are confident enough to put out a product without loads of fancy features that don’t perform.

The G8600 gives you exactly what you need to produce lots of plants, with an excellent yield; what more could you want?

What I don’t like

It’s the efficiency. Operating the light at max power all the time will impact on your electric bill. It’s still going to save you heaps compared to an HID though.

Bottom line?

So, we’ve come to the end of our G8 600 Watt MEGALED grow light review. In a nutshell, if you want a serious performer with the minimum amount of hassle, the G8600 is your grow light.

If you really want to boost your yield throw in a couple of 90W red flower boosters in the final stages of growth. Overall the G8600 has an unrivaled coverage producing stunning yields with the minimum amount of hassle. An excellent investment.
